SX Music Exclusive – Urbano “Texas, Hide Your Women!”

El Conjunto has landed! They have annexed Texas back, at least for the next three days of SXSW. We don’t know how we did it, but we were able to hold down band member Urbano, for an interview, well, it speaks for itself. D247: How long has Conjunto Nueva been around?

Urbano: Conjunto has been around since guacamole was born, since the first piece of meat was put on a tortilla, way before micheladas were created.

 D247: Is is true some of the band members moonlight as professional wrestlers?

Urbano: We all wrestle, we are true luchadores, luchamos por un sueño y luchamos con el de la renta, con los del telefono, en general con los que le debemos dinero.

 D247: You claim to have modernized Cumbia, was it dying? What other wild claims have you made in the past?

Urbano: Cumbia wasn’t dying, it was taking a nap and we woke her up and said “saca esas nalgas a pasear” in good chilango fashion we claim all there is to be claim. Except for children who some women might say they’re ours.

Urbano: I don’t understand what this next question says about cover but El Chango (a mi me gusta) is a favorite of me myself and I.
